This large scale commission now hangs in the entry of my parents’ new home. Their biggest hope for their new place is that all who are welcomed in feel, as my dad put it, “radical acceptance and friendship.”

Abba brought to mind the perfect reflection of this in a miraculous pattern He has already created in the natural world. Like a precious friend or a safe place, life-giving rain falls abundantly upon the earth during the water cycle, nourishing all before evaporating into the clouds and showering us all over again.

I can’t imagine a better depiction of what I see and what my parents hope for as they love and share this new space with many precious friends - new and old.
