I love our capacity for memories as humans. It’s truly remarkable that we are able to ascribe such value and meaning to places and moments in time by simply remembering the observations and emotions we felt there. Sometimes value and capacity for growth is held in less positive memories, but sometimes  the meaningfulness of a memory is found in its exhilaration or safety or intense joy.

For this couple, Lake Michigan’s shimmering blue waters and a sunlit skyline made the perfect backdrop for one of the most precious questions of their life: “Will you marry me?” The thrilling question asked and the joyous answer given at Navy Pier that day were so valuable that the moment needed to be commemorated with a tangible, original painting that could hang on the wall in their home.

I adore the power that art has to create a deeply meaningful visual map of the rich and invaluable memories we could only feel or see in our minds before. What a sheer honor it is to be a part of.
