I’m a seasons-lover. All my life when people have complained about the winter, I have just smiled with joyful gratitude for the fact that it was still snowing. When the leaves first start to go orange in the Autumn, I am giddy. And when those first buds start to shyly show themselves in the Spring, I come more alive, too. I soak up whatever gifts each season brings when it’s their time to shine. It’s one of the things I love about the Midwest.

This painting captures this energizing, childlike spark of summer, where vibrant shades of green dance on a field of rich, warm colors. Inspired by new growth, the feeling of glowing sunshine on tanned skin, the sounds of happy birds, the scent of freshly mown grass, and the giggles of the neighbor kids playing outside, this painting just feels like summer.
