In a continuation of my infatuation with winter and the gifts it brings, this piece explores the colors and wisdom to be found both in the weather pattern and in the seasons of life that feel more barren and frigid.

When everything is covered in the unblemished white of a winter snowscape, the occasional blue skies shine, the fir trees’ needles glow, and even the rich browns and oranges of the bark are showcased against the snow, when they would typically be hidden in a sea of green and brown.
