There are many layers to the beauty and sentiment behind this snowy, commissioned artwork. Years ago, this client took a photograph of his parents’ tree-filled backyard that had been transformed into a winter wonderland as is so often the case in Indiana. The photo also captured the beloved family dog playing happily in the snow.

As life transformed and the kids grew to leave the nest as adults, a strong and constant friendship was forged between this client’s father and their sweet pup. Moved by their bond, he decided to have a painting made that would be inspired by his decade-old photo.

In this collaboration between artist and client, we have created a peaceful piece of art that honors the beauty of childhood, encapsulates the wonder of winter snow, and commemorates the incredibly special bond between a loving, faithful dog and her very best human friend.
